John Swallow - New Carthage College President
John spoke at our meeting today and told us about the new resident hall that has been built that will accommodate more on campus student living. He went through the history of Carthage College as it originated in Carthage, Illinois. Unfortunately, as Carthage College started to expand, they needed to find a place that would be close to Chicago but have some more space and would allow for more people to attend. The City of Kenosha was one of four cities that competed for the new place of Carthage. He told us the mission of Carthage - “Seeking truth, building strength, inspiring service, together.” The mission of Carthage is very much like our four way test in Rotary. Carthage College wants to be apart of the world. John has met a variety of people through different ways that have been part of the Carthage College curriculum that have really put out the Carthage spirit. John would like to find more ways to work together with Rotary.
