Dr. Ryan Holmbeck, DPM

Dr. Holmbeck is from Burlington, WI and did his residency at St. Mary’s hospital. His presentation was about Plantar Fasciitis which is  an inflammation of the Plantar Fascia, one of the most common causes of heel pain.
An inflammation of a thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes. The inflamed tissue runs across the bottom of the foot. Symptoms include pain on the bottom of the heel, usually worse the first few steps in the morning. The causes are unknown. Some of the treatments are rest, ice, stretching, more supportive shoes, orthotics, oral medications, and cortisone injections. Plantar Fasciitis can come back after it is healed. Surgery is always the last resort for this injury. This injury is usually found in adults, especially the elderly.
