Joe Cardamone and Cast Members from Rent
Joe Cardamone and 2 cast members from Rent were our speakers this week. Joe shared that this is his 17th season and 21stShow since he became involved with Lakeside Players. He is thrilled to be performing Rent at the Rhode and gave us a little history of the play. It is a rock opera that was first performed on Broadway in 1996 and tells the story of young artists and their struggle with finance, friendships, and AIDs. It is loosely based on Giacomo Puccini’s Italian opera La Bohe’me. It has a very talented cast, over 100 people signed up for auditions and 85 showed up and auditioned for various roles. Thomas Minkowksi and Mike Curtain, are two local guys, Mary D. Bradford graduates, who will be in the performance and singing to us today.
